Finally! The best fix out there for the 3rd Generation (2002-2008, 2009 may have a different mechanism) Dodge Ram manual lumbar adjustment breakage problem on the driver's seat. 99 percent of the time the white threaded inner adjuster will break as shown in two of the photos. It is constructed of injection molded plastic and is very weak. This problem has never been addressed by Dodge. The only option through them is to order an entire lumbar assembly ( P/N 1-05166079AA) that uses the exact same part.........plus all of the rest that you don't need!*** UPDATE SPRING 2020 The Mopar lumbar assembly is no longer available. *** The solution is a high quality part that is precision machined from high strength nylon. This part will not break and is an exact drop in replacement with the same dimensions as the original. No modifications necessary. This part will only work on the drivers seat, not the passengers. This part may also repair the same problem on other Dodge models of the same era ie. Dakotas, and possibly more.
